Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary

The bird sanctuary of Kadalundi is adjoining a cluster of islands in a very scenic space encircled by hillocks where the Kadalundi River flows into the Arabian Sea. The place is regionally referred to as Kadalundi Nagaram. This virgin land is the abode for hundred species of native birds and over sixty species of migratory birds such as seagulls, terns, sandpipers, sand plovers, red and greenshanks, turnstones that flock here in massive numbers from Oct to March. A hillock close to this place which is 200 metres above the sea level provides a spell bounding view of the river mouth and the sea. Kadalundi is additionally notable for its large varieties of fish, mussels and crabs.
